A musical version of the silent film classic of the same title, starring Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell, “Seventh Heaven,” is the story of a girl who remains faithful to her street cleaner love even after he is blinded in the war. Ricardo Mantalban played Chico; Gloria DeHaven played Diane. The show was most notable for its remarkable young, cast, which included, in addition to Ricardo Mantalban and Gloria DeHaven, 22 year-old Chita Rivera and 33 year-old Beatrice Arthur.
